Getting Young People Involved With Local Radio And Their Community And A Chance To Give Us Your Feedback

todayFebruary 24, 2023

Background

The Orange Juice Plus Show is produced and presented by radio club members Olivia, Gary, Jack
Jonathan & Pierre. Their ages range from 14 to 18 and all are students from local schools and colleges.
Their show is bi-weekly on a Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m.
Before going ‘live’, they received regular tuition from other presenters, and the station manager,
Michelle Langthorne. They discussed production techniques, presenting, material to use, music
genres and time management. Giving them skills to project clear information to the listeners,
build on confidence and experience the ‘world of radio’.
This especially gives them a platform to be involved with the community and share news with
their peers.
On a more general note, after a positive 2022 we are looking forward to making 2023 a year of
strength and growth for the station. It is going to be an exciting year ahead. We will be getting
out-and-about in the community, attending local events and hosting a few of our own. As well as
adding to the existing shows that we offer, we want to give listeners and visitors more of what
they want. To help us do that, please complete our short listener survey below:
